Data Deletion Policy
This page explains how you can request deletion of your TheGoodGameTheory account and the personal data associated with it, and what happens once you do.
1. What gets deleted
When you request account deletion, we permanently remove:
- Your account record, including name, email, and profile image obtained from your sign-in provider.
- Your gameplay history, streaks, calorie totals, and break schedule settings.
- Any subscription and billing metadata linked to your account (independent billing records kept by our payment processor for legal or tax purposes are not covered by this policy).
Guest data was never sent to our servers in the first place — clearing your browser's local storage, or uninstalling the extension, removes it immediately from your device.
2. How to request deletion
You can request deletion of your account and data in either of these ways:
- Email us at support@thegoodgametheory.com with the subject "Data deletion request", sent from the email address associated with your account.
- Use the in-app account settings delete option, where available, which sends the same request automatically.
We may ask you to confirm your identity before processing the request, to prevent unauthorized deletions.
3. Timeline
- We acknowledge deletion requests within 5 business days.
- Your account and associated personal data are deleted from our production systems within 30 days of a verified request.
- Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on our normal backup rotation, within 90 days.
4. What we may retain
A small amount of information may be retained after deletion where necessary to:
- Comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations (for example, billing records tied to a completed payment).
- Resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or prevent fraud.
- Maintain aggregated or anonymized statistics that no longer identify you.
5. Deleting via your sign-in provider
Removing TheGoodGameTheory's access from your Google account (or other sign-in provider) revokes our ability to authenticate you, but does not by itself delete data already stored with us. Please also send a deletion request as described above to remove your account data.
6. Effect of deletion
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted, your streaks, history, and any active subscription benefits end, and you will need to create a new account to use the Service again.
